Short answer

Quartz Hill is a good place to live if you want a larger lot, a quieter street, and the Westside Union to Quartz Hill High path, and you can pay the premium without skipping the roof. It is a frustrating place to live if the kids are grown, you want walkable shops, or the payment only works on a tired house. ZIP 93536 is not the same thing as Quartz Hill High. Quartz Hill feels different from a Lancaster tract five minutes away, and the price knows it. The honest question is whether your household will use the thing you are paying for.

You get semi-rural streets, often a quarter acre or more, and the school stack people ask me about first. You do not get a mild climate or a restaurant row. Wind and dust do not stop at the Quartz Hill line. City water is typical in the core. Horse property shows up as you move toward the edges, and that is a different buyer than a family who wants a tract with sidewalks.
